Sumi’s subsidiary, Suomen Maatalousmuovien Kierrätys Oy, has reached its 2024 collection target of 2,000 tons. Between August and December, nearly 600 collections of agricultural plastics were made from farms, with the northernmost load retrieved from Enontekiö!
Some collections already scheduled in SuMaK’s routing system will still be carried out in the upcoming weeks. However, during the winter, the collection pace will slow down slightly, and some orders will be postponed to next spring. The goal for 2025 is to further increase the collection volumes of balewrap plastics.
Finland’s Agricultural Plastic Recycling began its operations in August, with the first plastic load delivered to Clean Plastic Finland’s recycling facility on August 8, 2024. Agricultural plastics delivered to CPF are processed into recycled plastic granules.
