About packaging
Packages are needed. They protect the product from the elements and environment and it also protects the environment from the product, provides information about the product and facilitates the handling of products in the distribution chain.
Packaging waste recycling targets are stipulated in the Government Decree on packaging and packaging waste (1029/2021). Achieving the goals is the responsibility of producers, i.e. packers and importers of packaged products.
The recycling targets for different packaging materials according to the Government Decree are as follows:
