Sumi has entered into collaboration agreements with the Swedish packaging producer organization TMR and with Recipo, the producer organization for electrical and electronic waste and batteries operating in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
Through these collaboration agreements, managing producer responsibility for packaging in the Nordic countries becomes easier. Finnish companies introducing packaging to the Nordic markets can now fulfil their legal producer obligations through a single producer organization for all countries. Conversely, Nordic companies can also handle the statutory reporting and recycling fees for packaging introduced to the Finnish market.
The TMR cooperation agreement also includes Norsirk, which handles producer responsibility in Norway, and Emballageretur, which operates in Denmark. With this comprehensive network, packaging producers do not need to be familiar with the laws and regulations of different countries, as they can outsource the management of their producer responsibility to any of the entities included in the cooperation agreement
