Elker Oy joins the Nordic producer responsibility service model

Nordic PRO Solutions cooperation is strengthening in Finland as Elker Oy joins the Nordic producer responsibility service model. As Nordic PRO Solutions expands to include Elker Oy, producers can benefit from an even more comprehensive and seamless way to manage their producer responsibility obligations across the Nordic countries.

Nordic PRO Solutions is a Nordic producer responsibility service model that started operations on 1 June 2025. Through Nordic PRO Solutions, producers can easily manage producer responsibility for packaging, as well as batteries, accumulators, electrical and electronic equipment in the Nordic countries through a single point of contact.

With Elker joining the cooperation, the service will expand to offer the same services in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The Nordic PRO Solutions network was originally established by NORSIRK, El-Kretsen, TMR, Retur and Sumi.

One partner – one point of contact in the Nordics

The producer selects one contact person within the Nordic PRO network who assists in identifying producer responsibility obligations across the Nordic region. The producer then concludes producer responsibility transfer agreements in the countries where it operates and for the products it places on the market.

All key aspects have been taken into account in the service model. Through a local contact person, the producer can manage all enquiries and reporting related to producer responsibility. This applies to the Nordic countries where the company has a valid agreement with a producer responsibility organisation participating in the Nordic PRO Solutions cooperation.

Sumi is responsible for the Finnish market in relation to packaging and offers its customers all the Nordic PRO Solutions producer responsibility services in the other Nordic countries.

Elker Oy joins the Nordic PRO Solutions cooperation

The cooperation will expand in March 2026 when Elker Oy joins the Nordic PRO Solutions network. As a result, Nordic PRO Solutions services can also be offered in Finland, covering producer responsibility for packaging as well as batteries, accumulators, electrical and electronic equipment.  

Elker Oy is a service company established and wholly owned by three producer responsibility organisations for electrical and electronic equipment (ICT-tuottajaosuuskunta TY, SELT ry and FLIP ry). The company provides a wide range of services to producer responsibility organisations, and like its owners, its operations are non-profit.

Elker currently employs six permanent employees and one fixed-term employee. The company’s turnover in 2024 was approximately EUR 1.9 million.
